A recent patent filed by Canon shows an interesting feature; an eye proximity sensor. The basic idea behind the sensor is that once the photographer’s eye moves close to the eye piece, the touchscreen area would turn off. It sounds like a “nice to have” feature, rather than a “need to have” feature. Two of the other main features include a touchscreen and wifi connection, neither of which should come as a big surprise.
