500px Lightroom Plugin Now Available

500px has just released a new plugin that will allow you to publish, manage and comment on your photographs from inside Lightroom. If you are one of the people who have been anxiously waiting for this release, go and get it!

Adobe to Shed 750 Jobs in North America and Europe

Adobe has announced that they will be restructuring “In order to better align resources around Digital Media and Digital Marketing”. Unfortuntely, this will mean that 750 full time jobs will be lost, the majority of which are located in North America and Europe.

 

Adobe Photoshop CS6 - New Look and Features

According to AppleInsider, Photoshop CS6 will adopt a darker theme (that somewhat resembles Aperture software) when it is released in March of 2012. I’m not sure why, but they have added a number of 3D related tools. We’ve listed them below. No word yet if the Deblurring tool we saw will be part of this new package. One can only hope.

 

Adobe Carousel Now Available

A while back we announced an upcoming service from Adobe called Carousel. Essentially Adobe stores all your photographs in the cloud, so that you can access them from up to 5 devices. Adobe Photoshop Touch

Here is the first look at Adobe’s tablet specific editing suite, called Photoshop Touch. It’s very similar to the desktop version of Photoshop, except that some functionality has been streamlined to work with a pen instead of a mouse. In the following video, Russell Brown walks us through this new software, which appears to only be available for Android tablets at this point in time.

Adobe just announced Carousel: an cloud based system which allows you to sync your photographs over multiple devices. You can share your Carousel with up to 5 people, and you don’t have to worry about syncing up your devices as they are always up to date. There are 3 versions (iOS, Android and Windows) in the works. You can sign up now to be notified once the apps become available.

 

Adobe Subscriptions Allow You To Pay As You Go

Adobe has introduced subscriptions to their Creative Suites programs, allowing you to pay on a monthly or yearly basis. This could be a convenient option for someone working on a short term project. Subscriptions include updates to future releases, as well as online support should you need it.
