Tyler Card made this awesome camera costume for Halloween. The best part is, it’s functional! Once a photograph is taken, it shows up on the large LCD screen on the back.

David Franklin created the Delen Memory Table which has an arm with a camera attached to it’s end. You can set the camera to pre-determined intervals to create a series of time lapse images. It can also be programmed to automatically send the photographs to either your computer or to a social networking site.
LeicaRumors recently posted a story about a man who created three 350kg stainless steel Leica cameras. The one above currently resides in the Foto Henny Hoogeveen Lecia store in the Netherlands. Much care was taken in all the details, and the final result really is quite beautiful.
Sony has announced that they will be delaying the launch of the upcoming NEX 7 and Reflex Alpha 65 cameras “indefinitely”. The notice comes after record flooding in Thailand. Nikon has also provided an update, although they are still assessing the damages.
Designed by Sangik Lee, the Digimo is a series of miniature cameras that can be attached to each other or used separately. They can also be shot remotely, allowing the photographer to get creative as to how they are used. One of the examples below shows how you could attach multiple cameras to a bicycle, but really the sky is the limit. Unfortunately it’s still a concept at this point in time, so there’s no guarantee it will ever be available to purchase.
This custom made camera gives new meaning to the phrase “shooting your subject”. Created by the E. Leitz agency in the 1930′s, they were apparently made for sports photographers, as the riffle handle helped with stability. For obvious reasons, they also became popular with wildlife photographers. Originality will cost you however, as the starting bid is $65,000. And you thought your Leica camera was expensive!
Canon has announced their newest DSLR, the Canon EOS 1DX. This new line will replace both the EOS 1D Mark IV and the EOS 1Ds Mark III series cameras by combining the best of both worlds into one. At the heart of the camera is the all new Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors, which are capable of delivering about 17 times more processing speed than the DIGIC 4. It features an 18 megapixel full frame sensor and is capable of an awesome 12 frames per second, even when shooting RAW. They’ve added an additional focus mode, which auto focuses using 61 points and even has it’s own dedicated DIGIC 4 processor. It is scheduled for availablitly in March, 2012, and will set you back $6800 (body only).

Here’s a novel idea: a panoramic camera ball that you throw up into the air. At the peak of flight it snaps photographs using 36 cell phone cameras. I like the idea of the high perspective, as well as the fact each result will be a bit of a surprise since you can’t look through a traditional viewfinder.
Where was I when Olympus was giving away PEN E-PM1 cameras in Toronto? There’s a good chance I was out taking photos, actually. At any rate, this isn’t the first time they have given away cameras, so keep an eye out for them in your area, in case they decide to give away more.
For the photographer who has more money than brains, Sigma is creating a limited series of Amboyna Burl root bodies. There will only be 10 made, and each one will be unique due to the characteristics of the wood. Apparently each one takes 60 hours to create. The Amboyna Burl root wood edition camera will only be available only through Sigma Germany, and will set you back about $14,000.
If you have $130 burning a hole in your pocket, and you want a unique camera, then why not try the Double Exposure Digi Cam. It does exactly what it’s name suggests; it combines two photographs into one image at the click of a button. While this might be a novel idea for the amateur photographer, I’d rather save my money for something a little more high end.
There’s a camera for sale on Etsy, except that it doesn’t work. It does have it’s casing removed however, turning it into an interesting display piece. There is only 1 available, but it can be yours for $35 plus S&H. I’m afraid to ask whether or not it’s legal to purchase a naked camera..lol
This camera concept by French designer Charlie Nghiem has an interface which uses rotating dials instead of buttons. What do you think? Would this make the camera easier to use?
