Project Imagina8tion with Ron Howard

Project Imagina8tion is the first photography contest that will influence the story behind a full motion picture. Directed by Ron Howard, the film will be influenced by 8 winning photographs which will establish the setting, time, character, mood, relationship, goal, obstacle and the unknown. Star Gazing at Crater Lake – National Geographic 2011 Traveler Photo Contest Winner

The winners of the 2011 Traveler Photo Contest were recently announced. The contest generated almost 13,000 entries by photographers from around the world. Ben Canales’ photograph titled Star Gazing at Crater Lake took home the grand prize. Ben put together the following “making of” video so we can see how he set up his shot.

Fstoppers Behind The Scenes Contest

The folks over at fstoppers are having another Behind The Scenes contest. This year there is $20,000 in prizes up for grabs! If you have a creative idea for a photo shoot, and are able to document it, then you could be one of the three lucky winners. Contest runs from now until December 31st, so get those creative juices flowing.

The results for the 7th Annual Nature in Focus Photography Contest were announced 2 weeks ago (I just found out yesterday). I am pleased to announce that my photograph “Controlled Chaos” was a finalist out of more than 3,300+ photographs.

National Geographic Photography Contest 2010 – Results

The winners for the National Geographic Photography Contest 2010 have been announced, and Aaron Lim Bon Teck of Singapore, won the grand prize with his panoramic photo of an active Indonesian volcano. For his efforts, he will receive $10,000 and a trip to National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C.. It is the first year National Geographic has offered a cash prize to the winner. I am also very pleased to announce I have been chosen as a finalist in the Nature category. More details after the jump.

2010 World Wide Wow Photo Competition Results
