iPhone4s Is Now the 2nd Most Popular Cameraphone on Flickr

Well that didn’t take long. The iPhone 4s is already the 2nd most popular cameraphone on Flickr. I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised since they are selling like hot cakes and this version has improved camera features.

This is How Many Photographs Are Uploaded to Flickr Everyday

Artist Erik Kessels has an installation at Foam which physically show how many photographs are uploaded to Flickr in a 24 hour period. When we hear about large numbers, it is difficult for our brains to visualize the information. Installations such as Erik’s help us realize how large the data set actually is.

Blast From The Past! Old Photography Websites

Have you ever wondered what photography related websites looked like back when the internet was young? We did, so we put together the following screen captures for you.

flickr Geofences

Flickr has updated some of the options available to you in terms of who can view your geotagged photographs. You can now set up geofences, which are pre selected areas that allow you to control who views your photographs. For example, set up a geofence surrounding your house, then adjust your privacy settings to only allow your family to see photographs which are tagged within this area. Please note that any photographs with Geo data in the EXIF will still be readable, so be sure to restrict your download settings as well.

Flickr vs 500px

flickhundred is a website that randomly loads 2 photographs side by side: one from flickr and one from 500px. Obviously it was set up to compare the quality of photographs submitted by members of either site. I will say the comparison is a little unfair considering flickr is often used to upload casual photographs while 500px is mainly used to upload your best photographs.
