The World's First Social Camera

Hipstamatic is ready to launch a new iPhone app which claims to be the world’s first social camera. How does it work? Essentially, you and friends (who must also have an iPhone and the same app) get to “share a roll of film” consisting of 24 photographs. Like traditional film, you can’t see your photographs until you have finished the roll. Once all 24 photographs have been exposed, the photos are revealed to all participants. The app, called Hipstamatic D-Series, is scheduled for launch today.

Underwater Housing for your iPhone

This yet to be named underwater camera housing is designed for an iPhone 4 or 4s. I was unaware there was demand for such a product, but considering how widespread the iPhone camera is being used, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. The handles are specially designed so that you don’t drop your phone underwater, and the housing is rated to 100 feet deep in salt water. They are currently trying to raise funds on Kickstarter where $399 will get you a limited edition Mocean Armor “Pro Kit”, assuming they meet their fundraising goal of course.

iPhone4s Is Now the 2nd Most Popular Cameraphone on Flickr

Well that didn’t take long. The iPhone 4s is already the 2nd most popular cameraphone on Flickr. I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised since they are selling like hot cakes and this version has improved camera features.

The iPhone Lens Dial

If you’re the type who’s always taking photos with your camera phone, then you might be interested in the iPhone Lens Dial. The case has 3 lenses to rotate into position, allowing for quick lens changes. The three lenses are a Wide Angle, a Telephoto and a Fisheye. It’s quite pricey at $249, but if that’s what you want to spend your hard earned money on, then good on ya.

Use Your Cell Phone Camera To Interact With Starbucks Cups

In a clever marketing campaign, Starbucks has released an Augmented Reality app for iPhone and Android which will allow you to interact with their products. When you point your cell phone’s video camera at specific Starbucks drinks and coffee bags, one of 5 characters will appear (an ice skater, a squirrel, a boy, a dog or a fox). The augmented reality feature is holiday themed and allows you to interact with the characters by tapping on the cell phone’s screen.

Snap! Case Reduces Shame by Making Your iPhone Look Like a Camera

If you have taken a lot of flack from your friends because you your iPhone as your main camera, well, I don’t have too much sympathy to be honest. At any rate, if you want to disguise your iPhone, the Snap! case does a great job. It’s as easy as 1-2-3 (Open case, insert iPhone, snap case shut).
