Imax Licenses Kodak Patents for Use in Their Movie Theatres

Kodak has been thrown a life preserver of sorts. Movie screen company Imax has licensed more than 50 patents from Kodak, which would allow them to improve their laser projection technologies. It would also gain them access to more than 10,000 of Kodak’s other patents, as long as they are cinema related. I’m not saying this arrangement is going to bring them back from the grave, but this is probably the best thing to happen to Kodak in quite some time.

Evolution of the Kodak Logo

You may recall a while back we showed the evolution of the Canon logo. Now it’s time to take a look at how the Kodak logo has changed over the years. Which one is your favourite? To be honest, I think I prefer the logos from the 70′s and 80′s.

Kodak Takes Poison Pill

No, it’s not as bad as it sounds. Kodak is currently trying to sell it’s digital imaging patents. The problem they are faced with is that the value of the patents may exceed the value of the entire company. To stop another company from buying them out, and thereby getting their hands on the patents at a “discount price”, Kodak has adopted a shareholder rights agreement that makes it cost-prohibitive for investors to buy 5 percent or more of the company over the next three years.
