Use Your Cell Phone Camera To Interact With Starbucks Cups

In a clever marketing campaign, Starbucks has released an Augmented Reality app for iPhone and Android which will allow you to interact with their products. When you point your cell phone’s video camera at specific Starbucks drinks and coffee bags, one of 5 characters will appear (an ice skater, a squirrel, a boy, a dog or a fox). The augmented reality feature is holiday themed and allows you to interact with the characters by tapping on the cell phone’s screen.

 

SugarSync Your Mobile Photos To Your Computer Automatically

This is the way of the future, and it’s starting now with mobile phones. SugarSync allows your photographs to be automatically transferred to your computer(s), the instant you take them. Photos can also be backed up online, as they are sent to the cloud. Hopefully this will be readily available to DSLR’s in the near future. That would make me a happy camper.

 

Facebook to Launch Photo Sharing App

TechCrunch reports that Facebook is on the verge of launching it’s own photo sharing service. While I don’t think it will kill other popular apps such as Instagram, but it probably will become the most widely used photo sharing service. BubbleScope is a 360 Degree Smartphone Attachement

BubbleScope is a smartphone attachment that allows you to take 360 degree photographs and videos. They claim to be different than other 360 solutions in that the panoramas are captured instantly, as opposed to being a series of images stitched together. The accessory is transferable between devices and is accompanied by the BubblePix App. They are currently seeking funding on CrowdFunder. Assuming they hit their target, if you pledge £50 or more, you will essentially be pre-ordering a BubbleScope.
