Pixel Hack Day

This coming weekend (November 19th-20th), 500px will host an event called Pixel Hack Day. The purpose of the event is to allow photographers and programmers to get together to create interesting visual applications which can be shown over the web, on mobile devices and desktop platforms. At the end of the two day event, prizes will be awarded to the best “hackers”. If you are interested in attending, there is still time to register. Just follow the link below.

Doors Open Toronto

Just a reminder for those in the Toronto area that Doors Open is on this weekend. For those who don’t know, there are almost 150 buildings around the city which are opening up their doors for visitors. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the buildings in Toronto, as well as see some venues not normally open to the public. Many of the buildings allow you to take photographs and there is also a Photography Contest this year. More details below.

Contact Photography Festival 2011

For those of you in the Toronto area, the Contact Photography Festival is running for the month of May. There are a 1000+ artists at 160+ venues. For your convenience, there are apps for your phone that will show you where all the exhibits are located. If you have some free time, I highly recommend making the trip.
