As we increasingly rely on our smart phones to take photographs, wouldn’t it be great if there was a lens that could easily be added to their smart phone.  That’s exactly what this camera concept aims to achieve. The Wireless Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens is an idea that would allow users to easily attach or remove a professional lens to almost any device. Learn more after the break.

The WVIL (Wireless Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) camera is a technically feasible concept envisioned by Artefact’s award-winning design team. This concept is the result of a deep exploration of innovation possibilities in the camera industry as well as the manifestation of a strategic vision for the space. The patent-pending WVIL camera system has three core attributes:
  1. Smartphone connectivity: takes the connectivity of today’s smart phones for people to quickly and easily share their pictures with their friends and family
  2. Software platform versatility: by creating an app platform on the camera, the camera becomes extremely versatile tool that can support in-context learning, among other benefits
  3. SLR quality optics: maximizes use of existent lenses by wirelessly connecting them to the camera body
